Cookie Policy
We keep our cookie use lean and intentional. Here is exactly what we set, why and how to control it.
Section 1: What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device when you visit. They let the site remember things between page loads and visits, such as your language preference or whether you have already seen a consent notice.
This Cookie Policy explains the categories of cookies and similar technologies used on the Eezpays website, why they are used and how you can control them. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.
Section 2: Our Approach
We use four categories of cookies and similar technologies: strictly necessary, preferences, analytics, and advertising and marketing. Strictly necessary technologies are always active. Optional technologies are used only in accordance with your consent choices and applicable law.
On pages where advertising is enabled, Google and other advertising vendors selected through our consent management platform may use cookies, local storage, pixels, tags or similar identifiers to deliver, secure and measure advertisements. They may also personalise advertisements if you consent.
Consent first: When you first visit our site, only strictly necessary technologies are active. Analytics and personalised advertising technologies are activated only after the relevant consent is given. If you do not consent, Google may show non-personalised or limited ads where permitted; these may still use information such as page context, general location, frequency-capping data and fraud-prevention signals. You can change or withdraw your choices at any time.
Section 3: Strictly Necessary Cookies
These cookies are essential for the website to work and cannot be switched off. They do not store any personally identifiable information and do not require your consent under Irish law.
Legal basis: Strictly necessary cookies are exempt from the consent requirement under Regulation 5(5) of the European Communities (Electronic Communications Networks and Services) (Privacy and Electronic Communications) Regulations 2011 (S.I. No. 336 of 2011), as transposed into Irish law.
[Always Active: No consent required]
| Cookie | Purpose | Expiry |
| ep_session | Maintains your session while you navigate the site. Allows pages to load correctly and keeps you logged in if you have an account. | Session (deleted when you close your browser) |
| ep_consent | Stores your cookie consent choices so you are not shown the consent banner on every visit. | 1 year |
Section 4: Analytics Cookies
We use Google Analytics 4 to help us understand how visitors use the Eezpays website. This tells us things like which pages are most visited, how long people spend on the site and whether visitors are arriving from search engines, social media, or direct links.
We use the resulting analytics information to understand and improve the website. Analytics cookies are only set after you give consent through our cookie controls.
[Requires Your Consent: only set after you opt in]
| Cookie | Provider | Purpose | Expiry |
| _ga | Google Analytics 4 | Assigns a randomly generated identifier to your browser to distinguish unique visitors. No personal data is stored. | 2 years |
| _ga_[ID] | Google Analytics 4 | Tracks your session activity, such as pages visited and time spent, to help us understand usage patterns. | 2 years |
Section 5: Advertising Cookies and Similar Technologies
Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies or similar technologies to serve ads on eligible Eezpays pages. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables Google and its partners to serve ads based on a visitor’s visit to Eezpays and/or other sites on the internet when the visitor has consented to personalised advertising.
Personalised ads may use information about prior visits, interests, approximate location and interactions to select more relevant advertising. Non-personalised ads are selected primarily using contextual information, such as the content being viewed and general location. Non-personalised and limited ads may still use cookies or similar technologies for purposes such as frequency capping, aggregated reporting, security and fraud prevention.
| Technology or provider | Purpose | Control |
| Google AdSense and Google advertising cookies | Serve and render ads, measure performance, limit repeated ads, protect against fraud and, where consent is given, personalise ads. | Google consent message, Manage Cookies and Google Ads Settings |
| Other advertising vendors shown in the consent message | The purposes disclosed beside each vendor, which may include ad delivery, measurement, audience research, security and personalisation. | Review or change vendor choices in the consent message |
The participating vendor list can change. The current list, each vendor’s purposes and links to its privacy information are available by selecting “Manage options” in the Google consent message shown on pages where advertising is enabled.
You can manage Google ad personalisation or opt out of personalised Google ads in Google Ads Settings at https://adssettings.google.com/. Turning off personalised ads does not mean that you will stop seeing ads.
International Data Transfers
Google Analytics and Google advertising data may be processed by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Some data may be transferred to and processed on servers outside the European Economic Area (EEA), including in the United States, by Google LLC or other participating vendors.
Google relies on safeguards including the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) for relevant transfers, in accordance with GDPR Chapter V.
For more information on how Google handles data and the safeguards in place, see Google’s Privacy Policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy and Google’s advertising information at https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads.
Section 6: How to Manage Cookies and Withdraw Consent
You can update or withdraw your Eezpays cookie preferences at any time by clicking “Manage Cookies” in the footer. On pages where Google advertising is enabled, use the privacy choices control to reopen Google’s consent message and change consent by purpose or vendor. Withdrawal does not affect processing carried out before it was withdrawn.
You can also manage or delete cookies through your browser. Please note that blocking all cookies may affect how some parts of the site work.
Chrome: Settings > Privacy and security > Cookies and other site data
Firefox: Settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data
Safari: Preferences > Privacy > Manage Website Data
Edge: Settings > Cookies and site permissions > Cookies and site data
To opt out of Google Analytics tracking across all websites, you can install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on
Google Ads Settings at https://adssettings.google.com/ lets you manage whether Google personalises ads for you. You may continue to see contextual or non-personalised ads after turning personalisation off.
Section 7: Your Rights
As a resident of Ireland or the European Union, you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Irish Data Protection Act 2018 in relation to any personal data we hold about you. Where cookies process personal data (such as the analytics identifiers stored by Google Analytics), those rights apply.
| Right | What it means for you |
| Access | You can ask us what personal data we hold about you and receive a copy of it. |
| Erasure | You can ask us to delete your personal data where we no longer have a lawful reason to hold it. |
| Withdraw consent | Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time using “Manage Cookies” and, for Google advertising, the privacy choices control on ad-enabled pages. Withdrawal does not affect processing carried out before withdrawal. |
| Restriction | You can ask us to restrict how we use your data in certain circumstances. |
| Complaint | You have the right to lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Commission (DPC), Ireland’s supervisory authority, at dataprotection.ie. |
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the details in Section 9 below.
Section 8: Changes to This Policy
We will update this Cookie Policy if we add new cookies, change our analytics setup, or if legal or regulatory requirements change. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
If we make material changes that affect how we process your data, we will notify you via the cookie banner on your next visit.
Section 9: Contact Us
